Hey everyone, I am involved in a little bit of a side project that I think is a really good opportunity for some visibility, but also just a good feel good kind of project. I am working with a dad that has two autistic sons. In order to engage with them he often gets them out on hikes and into the outdoors as part of a challenge for them. He wants to get them on a challenging hike that will give them a good sense of accomplishment in the Cascades, and potentially to use as part of a fundraiser. He and I are talking about helping to get them up a hike on Mt Cashmere (or possibly another mountain) this summer.

I was wondering if there is anyone that is interested in helping out with planning and/or the hike. If nothing else, it is a great way to help two young kids accomplish something they may not be able to otherwise.

I watched a special needs kid in my son Ian’s boy scout troop go from, a challenge for the leaders, to from what I hear, not a special needs kid anymore. I can be difficult at times but well worth it. I would be willing to help where I can. The Mountaineers in Tacoma has some experience that may help too. Cheers, Ken
